Hello! I’m Stephen Roessner, Senior Lecturer in the Audio & Music Engineering Program at The University of Rochester. I’m also the Executive Producer of Open Sessions, and I’m really glad you are here to check out the music and the work of our engineers!

Since I am an audio educator, and every once in a while want to share some knowledge with more than just my students, I figured this would be a great way to talk about all things audio in a more public forum. Of course, you can follow me on my Instagram (@mixedbystephen) where I post about the engineering I am currently doing.

So, much like my classes, expect some musings, tangents, and opinions of all things audio. Nothing I say should be taken as the final say though — I encourage a vibrant discussion in my courses, and perhaps my thoughts will encourage you to think deeper about music, production, and our lives in music.
